ACLU FOUNDATION OF NH
EDUCATE…..ADVOCATE ……ORGANIZE…..LITIGATE These actions are critical to ensure policy that creates systemic change. While all are important, litigation currently is essential regarding social justice issues especially that impact vulnerable population. Think of the longstanding fight in the NH courts for an adequate education for all NH students. Or the building of a women’s prison almost 20 years after the court mandate. We all know the import role of litigation as we work to retain our democracy.
Long ago the ACLU became the national leader to defend the rights of all people in the United States. NH is blessed to have one of the strongest chapters, ACLU-NH, with its team of highly educated, experienced and most of all dedicated lawyers. The ACLU uniquely litigates. Recently, they chose to defend the rights of NH’s transgender population regarding their participation in school sports. They currently lead a major national lawsuit regarding Child Birthright. Last fall they led a coalition on a federal lawsuit regarding unconstitutional voter laws in NH.
We and others can educate, advocate, and organize. ACLU-NH litigate.
The ACLU Foundation of NH is the PUUC’s Social Justice Special Collection recipient for March. Donations support ACLU-NH’s litigation and public education efforts. Both organizations work to preserve the individual rights and liberties guaranteed in the Bill of Rights and the Constitution.
All donations to the ACLU Foundation of NH in the month of March 2025 will be matched up to $500 from our social justice fund. You can donate any time this month online or write a check to PUUC, with "ACLU Foundation of NH" in the memo line and place it in the offertory or in the mail.
