There are many ways to support the Peterborough Unitarian Universalist Church and its various efforts, in general for overall operations, or specifically for particular programs.
Annually the Stewardship Committee does a canvass of the congregation for pledge offerings for the coming fiscal year (September to June). These funds form the basis for our annual budget for staff salaries and church operations.
Offering During Weekly Service
Collection is taken at each Sunday service. Several times a year the collection is dedicated to a specific local need, such as the Community Supper or the transitional shelter.
Peterborough Community Supper
These suppers each week are free. There is a bowl for donations gratefully accepted, though not expected. Checks can be made out to the Peterborough Community Supper and mailed to PUUC.
Persons with accounts at TD Bank have the opportunity to request that the Bank make donations to the Supper as part of the Bank’s program of supporting local charities, at no cost to the account holder. At year’s end, the Bank will donate $10 for existing accounts, or $50 for new accounts.
Monadnock Summer Lyceum
This unique program is supported by contributions directly to the Monadnock Summer Lyceum, which manages its own budget for speakers, travel costs, and publicity. Contribute to the Lyceum through its website.
Contributions to Our Endowment Funds
Currently our trustees are working a establishing a program for legacy donations to our endowments, specifically the Building Fund used for maintaining the structure of our historic building, and/or the Service Fund, which donates to socially worthy programs. More on this later.
